Guthrie Castle

15th Century, Guthrie Castle is the perfect setting for a private & secluded wedding. Only very recently available for private hire, the castle now offers a range of facilities at a very high standard to suit all sizes of wedding from 2 to 200.

A purpose build pavilion for weddings of up to 200 guests will be available from January 2004. Smaller weddings can take place in the castle itself. For the wedding ceremony, there is a beautiful Chapel within the castle, suitable for up to 20 guests, the Great Hall offers space for up to 50 guests, and for up to 150 guests, the Bridal Aisle in the walled garden is a perfect location for an outdoor ceremony. For the drinks reception and dinner, again, there are a number of suitable locations depending on the size of the party and the wishes of the bride and groom.

The castle sits within its own 156-acre estate between the towns of Forfar and Arbroath. It has a private 18-hole golf course, tennis court, gymnasium, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi, entertainment centre and full sized snooker table.

There are 3 suites and 3 bedrooms available in the castle, all of these are spacious and of a high standard. Guests of the castle also have full use of the "family" rooms; the Great Hall, Library, Drawing Room, Breakfast room, Chapel and the large formal Dining room with a table that extends to host parties of up to 18 guests. It is possible to stay for longer periods of time in the castle allowing friends and family to really feel at home.

In addition to the accommodation in the castle, there are two cottages available in the grounds, one sleeping 2 guests and one sleeping 4.
