Dundas Castle

Dundas
Castle in South Queensferry is one of Scotland’s
most popular and exclusive wedding venues. Within
easy reach of the city of Edinburgh it offers
accommodation and facilities to the highest standard
for weddings with up to 250 guests. The castle
was built in 1818 by the renowned architect, William
Burn and has belonged to the Stewart-Clark family
for the last century or so. It is now the lovingly
restored home of Sir Jack Stewart-Clark and his
wife, Lady Lydia.
The
castle is taken on a purely exclusive basis from
midday on the day of the wedding until 10.30am
on the day of departure. There are nine bedrooms
within the castle as well as the romantic boathouse
on the banks of a small loch in the grounds of
the castle. The bedrooms are all individually
furnished, each with an en suite bathrooms and
names such as the Summer, Room, the White Rose
Room or the Orchid Room. Wedding packages include
four of the nine bedrooms with additional rooms
available individually as required.
The
billiard room also becomes a popular hangout,
particularly for the men who always seem to manage
to get dressed in less time than the ladies!
The
wedding ceremony takes place in the Auld Keep,
in the original part of the castle which can accommodate
up to 90 guests in the main, second floor room
with additional guests being included in the ceremony
via a video link to the first floor armoury. (Extra
charge applies).

Drinks
are then served while photographs are taken in
the spectacular ground floor of the castle or,
weather permitting on the front lawn. Then up
to 60 guests can be accommodated for dinner in
the castle dining room while larger numbers move
to the permanent pavilion marquee for dinner and
dancing.
Catering
at Dundas Castle is provided by Sodexho Prestige.
